XP WallSlider is a lightweight and easy to use application that was created in order to provide you with a simple means of having your Windows XP wallpapers periodically refreshed with new ones, just like in Windows 7.

You can specify the images folder and the interval to change the background from the options menu that can be accessed by right-clicking the tray icon of XP WallSlider.
